According to Heat Vision Blog, Jeremy Renner is close to lock in as Hawkeye in The Avengers.  Ah, Marvel is so good at making everyone excited these days, but naming Renner (who we last enjoyed on his stint with the mind-blowing last year's Best Picture winner - The Hurt Locker) as the other character in The Avengers is not new. Perhaps, I looked back into my archive and yes, indeed it dates back in November. Surprise or no surprise, this is what I have been hoping for.

The Avengers have been dubbed as the biggest project to come under Marvel Studios. The collective superheroes movie has already have Tony Starks/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) and War Machine (Don Cheadle). No words on who will become Ant-Man yet (although we may have Nathan Fillion or Josh Holloway playing it as rumour says).

Since Renner's name has been linked to Hawkeye for almost a year, he kept denying the rumour. While it is certainly closer than ever, the news also followed what would have been Renner's sign-in into Paul Thomas Anderson's untitled religious film earlier this week (Slash Film called it The Master). I wonder how will that effects his decision to The Avengers. While sources on Screen Rant and Slash Film already mentioned it, Marvel still choose the silent gesture by not confirming it, yet!
