Walt Disney has released a bunch of images from the upcoming Jon Turteltaub-directed The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Forget about Prince Of Persia, the yet another Jerry Bruckheimer's production could strikes gold this time. Early buzz has been positive (that's what I heard).
The movie will see a battle of wizardry between Nicolas Cage and Alfred Molina where both have been rivals for centuries. Not only that Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is considering taking up a sidekick or apprentice for himself after much been impressed by Dave Stutler. The plot follows an average college student (Jay Baruchel) is reluctantly recruited to work for a sorcerer (Nicolas Cage), who gives him a crash course in magic to prepare him for a battle against the forces of darkness in modern Manhattan.
The big-budget fantasy film is a live-action re-imagining of the Mickey Mouse Sorcerer's Apprentice segment in Disney's Fantasia, which in turn is based on the late 1890s symphonic poem by Paul Dukas and 1797 Johann Wolfgang von Goethe ballad. Enough of the notes on the movie, Walt Disney has released several images for you to enjoy:
