THE TOWN
Releasing Date: 07 October Distributor: Warner Bros.
The Town is the second directorial debut for Ben Affleck after the critical success of Gone Baby Gone. Releasing this October 7 nationwide, The Town depicts the story of "four Charlestown, Massachusetts bank robbers as they are pursued by law enforcement. Affleck plays a professional thief who falls for a bank manager (Rebecca Hall) after a dangerous heist. He struggles with this newfound relationship whilst evading a tenacious FBI agent (Jon Hamm) looking to catch him and his crew before they rob another bank." The Town stars Ben Affleck, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall and Blake Lively.

BURIED
Releasing Date: 14 October Distributor: Lionsgate
Buried came out fresh from this year's Sundance and has received much attention since then. The Rodrigo Cortes film stars Ryan Reynolds as "Paul Conroy, a truck driver, awakens buried alive six feet underground with nothing but a lighter, a knife and a cell phone. Although he has no idea as to how he got there, he soon starts to remember what has happened to him." I have to say that the concept is pretty intriguing. Buried also stars Anne Lockhart and Ivana Miño.

THE OTHER GUYS
Releasing Date: 14 October Distributor: Sony Pictures
It's Adam McKay as director and Will Ferrell as the cast again - the same partnership that forms the alliance in Anchorman and Step Brothers. This time, they came out with The Other Guys, a story about "Detective Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell), a forensic accountant who's more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets, and Detective Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg), who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an embarrassing public incident with his quick trigger finger. Allen and Terry idolize the city's top cops, Danson and Manzetti (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson), but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don't quite go as planned." This is a pure action and comedy laughter extravaganza with also starring Mark Wahkberg, Dwayne Johnson, Samuel L Jackson, Steve Coogan and Eva Mendes.

RED
Releasing Date: 21 October Distributor: Summit Entertainment/Golden Screen Cinemas
The movie all about a bunch of CIA retirees - consisting of Frank Moses (Bruce Willis), Joe (Morgan Freeman), Victoria (Helen Mirren) and Marvin (John Malkovich), coming out of retirement for one more mission. Well imagine Helen Mirren with a machine gun, deadly! When his idyllic life is threatened by a high-tech assassin, former black-ops agent Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) reassembles his old team in a last ditch effort to survive. Directed by Robert Schwentke and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, this will be another adaptation from some DC Comics. By the way, Retired Extremely Dangerous. Also starring Mary-Louise Parker, Brian Cox and Karl Urban.

YOU AGAIN

The upcoming comedy film by Andy Fickman (which includes two previous directorial effort with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson) will be one hella assembly of castings that include Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver and Odette Yustman. A chick flick, they said! You Again tells the story Marni Young (Kristen Bell), discovers her brother, Will (James Wolk), is about to marry her High School rival, Joanna (Odette Yustman), and sets out to expose the fiancee's true colors. The plot thickens when Marni's mother Gail (Jamie Lee Curtis) meets up with Joanna's aunt Ramona (Sigourney Weaver), and it is revealed that Gail and Ramona were also high school rivals. You Again is coming into cinemas on 21 October.

TAKERS
Releasing Date: 28 October Distributor: Sony Screen Gems
Craving for another action-packed crime movie on October? We fancy some team up between the talents like Hayden Christensen, Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, T.I., Chris Brown, Zoe Saldana and more. The story about two police detectives investigating a daring heist by a group of well-organised bank robbers who left no trace. One of the former members, who got caught five years earlier, surprises the team after getting paroled after serving time in a penitentiary, and now a shot at a $30 million heist. Reviews for Takers have not been that glowing but expect fan boys to love it.

SCOTT PILGRIM vs THE WORLD

Coming in as one of those great movies a-la Kick Ass style. Michael Cera stars as the titular character, charming and jobless Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera), a bassist for garage band called Sex Bob-omb. Soon, he meets the girl of his dreams, Ramona V. Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) but the only catch is that he has to battle her seven evil ex-boyfriends to get to her.
