Greetings! Welcome to the first post of 2012. Now that there's a slight wrinkle about the Top 30 Best Reviewed Movie of 2011 - seems like I may need some time to publish that list due to some technical flaw.
Anyway, Green Tea Movie will like to start this brand new year by introducing the first trailer for the upcoming science-fiction-romantic-drama that could push the mash-up and genre-bender to a new frontier. Introducing Argentinian director, Juan Diego Solanas' "Upside Down", starring Jim Sturgess (21, One Day) and Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man trilogy, Melancholia). Thanks to the tip off from Kai Chi, the trailer is all yours after the jump.
I have to say that the trailer is pretty impressive with concept-wise been engaging and unique. "Upside Down" represents a new frontier in movie making by bending the elements of 'Romeo and Juliet' - a romance tragedy with dual-world science fiction idea. However, one question do beg in mind, how much this movie will set itself apart from a busy 2012 schedule ahead? Plus, the corny and convenient use of "Inception"-style with split city of up and down could be the cliche now.
The plot goes like this:
Adam (Sturgess) is an ordinary guy in an extraordinary universe. He lives humbly trying to make ends meet, but his romantic spirit holds on to the memory of a girl he met once upon a time from another world, an inverted affluent world with its own gravity, directly above but beyond reach… a girl named Eve (Dunst). Their childhood flirtation becomes an impossible love. But when he catches a glimpse of grown up Eve on television, nothing will get in the way of getting her back… not even the laws of science
The movie will be produced by Warner Bros but no official release date been set yet.
